Job Description

The primary role of the Student Office Staff position supports the operating functions of the Office of the Dean of Students main office and provides face-to-face customer service with students, parents and campus consitituents. The goal of this position is to give students valuable real-world experience in an office environment while learning the administrative process of Higher Education. This position should work 8-12 hours per week during the current semester. Those hours may be worked in any combination, at the discretion of the direct supervisor. The SOS position must be reliable, organized, responsible, and flexible. They must also be ambitious, detail-oriented, creative, and driven.

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Must be an actively enrolled Undergraduate student at Purdue University, West Lafayette

Experience

Previous Clerical experience not required.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Flexible and dependable with a strong attention to detail
  • Problem solving, logic and reasoning skills
  • Customer service oriented
  • Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Be timely and organized
