Job Summary/Basic Function

This position is available on a semester or annual basis and will provide one student with an opportunity within a busy downtown non-profit arts organization to develop design and promotional skills; gain experience with social media as a tool for communications and outreach; build website development skills; and receive an introduction to public art in a business environment through a wide array of hands-on experiences.

Job Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Social Media Implementation – Regularly create content for Facebook, Instagram, other platforms, in close coordination with staff and Marketing Chair and in accordance with the Art Spaces Social Media Plan; assist with preparation of the Art Spaces newsletter (quarterly) and email marketing.
  • Social Media Plan – Work with staff to create the monthly social media calendar.
  • Media Releases – Regularly update press contact lists and help to develop and distribute media releases for upcoming events.
  • Website – Regularly update website through Wix platform in consultation with the Art Spaces staff.
  • Events and Education Projects – assist with the preparation, promotion and implementation of events and educational projects.
  • Sculpture and Placemaking Project Assistance – Assist with various aspects of current projects including Turn to the River.
  • Miscellaneous – Various administrative tasks as they arise relevant to this position, the needs of Art Spaces and/or the interests and abilities of the assistant.
