    Summary: This person will provide a learning climate that encourages student motivation and leads students toward the fulfillment of individual potential for intellectual, emotional, psychomotor growth and maturation and self-regulation. Oversees the learning climate and curriculum, manages the budget, creates a close working relationship with parents and others involved with the preschool of Penn-Harris-Madison.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    1. Demonstrated knowledge of teaching strategies for young learners.
    2. Develops student evaluation system and recommendations based on each individual student.
    3. Develop, organize and implement high quality preschool programming.
    4. Develops strategies to meet goals of continual improvement of the program.
    5. Participate in registration of new students and assist families to acclimate them with school procedures, activities, and learning opportunities.
    6. Oversees, trains and evaluates support staff.
    7. Budget management (including parent registration and payment).
    8. Facilitate training for other teachers/staff in relation to preschool expectations and curriculum.
    9. Open to additional professional development as needed to provide the highest quality of program.

    Qualification Requirements:
    1. Current Indiana Teaching License with Early Childhood Certification.
    2. Excellent communication skills-oral, written, and interpersonal. Detail oriented.
    3. Excellent leadership and customer service skills.
    4. Must understand adult learning theory.
    5. Demonstrated excellent work habits, attendance record, and interactions with parents.
    6. Masters/administrators license preferred.
