The Corporate Financial Reporting department is responsible for the consolidation, reporting, and analysis of Simon’s financial statements in support of the executive review of results, quarterly earnings reporting, preparation of SEC filings on Form 10-Q and 10-K, as well as participating in the development and reporting with respect to the annual budget and periodic forecasting.

This department is responsible for the development of the company’s US GAAP accounting policies and positions as it pertains to ongoing transactions as well as new transactions, investments, and other activities.

As the Company continues to expand its footprint within Simon’s “Live, Work, Play, Stay, Shop” ecosystem, the Corporate Financial Reporting department participates in investment oversight, recording, reporting, and other ad hoc analyses at the direction of executive leadership.

This position will report to the Manager, Financial Reporting & Consolidation Systems.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Detailed review, including investment monitoring, accounting, and transaction facilitation, of certain corporate investments
  • Detailed review and preparation of budgets, Board of Directors slides, consolidated financial statements including commentary and other materials needed for monthly / quarterly reporting packages
  • Maintaining audit support for internal controls and external auditor purposes
  • Assist with the preparation of technical accounting positions
  • Prepare SEC disclosures for quarterly and annual filings including development of new disclosures in compliance with emerging US GAAP
  • Participate in continuous forecasting efforts
  • Assist in special projects and other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting required
  • 2-5 years accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or real estate
  • CPA a plus
  • Good oral and written communication skills required
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
  • Familiarity with JDEdwards, One Stream and/or other accounting consolidation systems a plus
